NRL refuse to cover cost of Canberra’s charter to Melbourne after disagreement on original flight plan

Just when you thought Ricky Stuart’s Canberra didn’t need any more ammunition to cause an upset and eliminate the Melbourne Storm from this year’s competition – the NRL gave them a little bit more after refusing to cover the costs of Canberra’s flights to Melbourne.

According to The Canberra Times, the Raiders rejected the NRL’s initial flight plan which would have caused chaos with their training schedule once landed in Melbourne.

The Raiders then booked a charter flight but the NRL refused to foot the bill.

NRL head office’s original plan would have seen the Raiders flying down on two separate flights.
