ARLC boss Peter V’landys and the NRL is on the verge of taking the NSW Government to court for attempting to ‘weasel’ out of their deal to revamp suburban rugby league grounds around Sydney.

Speaking to 2GB on Wednesday morning, V’landys reported to Ben Fordham that the 2022 grand final being held at Accor Stadium at Homebush relied on upgrades to Shark Park, Leichhardt and Brookvale Oval.

V’landys went as far as saying that NSW Premier Dominic Perrottet shook V’landys’ hand in a meeting and said, “Trust me, I will honour the deal.”

“This is about the fourth or fifth excuse that has been given to us.

“When you do a deal and you shake someone’s hand, you honour that agreement.

“They’ve left it right until we have to sell the Grand Final tickets to weasel their way out of it.”
