‘We know what they are doing’: Melbourne Storm hit back at Panthers after another attempt to influence referees

The Melbourne Storm are reportedly furious at Penrith Panthers officials after yet another influential article was released by News Corp on Wednesday which revealed that the Panthers were concerned referee Gerard Sutton had been “hoodwinked” by the Storm’s tactics.

Much has been said recently about coaches making comments pre and post big games about referees and tactics clubs use.

Now Melbourne have hit back.

“We know what they (Penrith) are doing and we don’t like it – it has been noted,” a “senior” Melbourne source told the Wide World of Sports’ The Mole.

“Before our last game, there was a similar story in the Fairfax media so whoever is behind it is being very thorough.

“It is not something we are happy about before such a big game.”

The Storm and Panthers play for a grand final spot this Saturday at 4pm.
