Rugby league Immortal Andrew Johns believes superstar Tom Trbojevic could one day end up alongside Johns in rugby league’s most exclusive individual club.
Writing for Nine Entertainment’s newspapers on Thursday, Johns said the sky is the limit for the Manly flyer.
“I don’t think I’ve seen a player more influential on his team than Turbo is on Manly,” Johns wrote.
“When he returned from injury against the Titans in Mudgee in round six, when they won 36-0, he was unstoppable and hasn’t looked back. Neither have the Sea Eagles.
“He’s so powerful, strong and quick but his greatest asset is his anticipation.
“Whether it’s for NSW or Manly, someone will make a break on the other side of the field and he will react straight away. He will get himself over there and get involved.
“A perfect example of that is Origin II in Perth in 2019 when he scored a hat-trick. In Townsville two weeks ago, he did the same thing for the Blues, scoring another three tries.
“Both times, he was out of position at centre but made his way into the game.
“His footy intelligence – knowing when to roam, where to roam, where to pop up – is incredible.”
