Kevin Walters says “good fellow” Tevita Pangai vital to Brisbane’s chances in 2021

New Brisbane Broncos coach Kevin Walters says troubled forward Tevita Pangai is a “good fellow” and the club will get the best out of him in 2021 after returning to Red Hill for training in good condition.

The Broncos almost sacked Pangai in 2020 but Walters believes the hulking tyro will be one of the team’s most important players moving forward.

Despite rumours circulating that the club is offering Matt Lodge and Joe Ofahengaue to rivals – Walters said both were in his plans for the time being.

Meanwhile several former NRL stars have missed out on the Super League’s ‘Man of Steel’ award with Englishman Paul McShane eventually getting the nod ahead of Australian’s Bevan French, Aidan Sezer and Lachlan Coote.

Several former NRL players made the team of the year including Konrad Hurrell, Kelepi Tanginoa and Kris Inu.
