Former Gold Coast fullback Michael Gordon arrested by police on drug charges

Former Gold Coast played now employee of the club, Michael Gordon, has been arrested and charged by police for his alleged involvement in smuggling illicit drugs across the NSW/QLD border.

Gordon was charged with two counts of supplying a prohibited drug and two counts of possessing a prohibited drug.

“There’s a very strong likelihood, given the types of drugs that were located, that if they didn’t end up on the streets here at Byron Bay, that they would be on the Gold Coast or Sunshine Coast,” Matt Kehoe from NSW Police said.

Channel Nine’s Danny Weidler tweeted that former coach Garth Brennan had warned club officials about Gordon with the complains falling on deaf ears.
