Queensland legend Billy Slater has responded to criticism from Paul Gallen that this is the worst Maroons side in history.

Speaking on 2GB, Slater asked where it leaves the Blues if they lose the decider tomorrow night in Brisbane.

“It’s unfair … in the terms that these guys (Queensland) haven’t had the opportunity to prove themselves,” Slater said.

“It’s 1-all in the series.. what does this say about New South Wales if Queensland goes on to win this series?

“Do they become the worst team in New South Wales history?”
