The voice behind Penrith’s theme song ‘Go the Mighty Panthers’ says she is ‘chuffed’ the anthem is still going strong after three decades of use.

Jane Scali, an original member of Young Talent Time back in the 1970’s, recorded the song for the Panthers in 1989 and it has been used ever since.

“I must admit I’m more than a little chuffed to hear that they are still playing the theme song I recorded a good 30 years ago,” Scali told the Western Weekender.

“It makes me feel like a young kid again!”

Despite being a Victorian girl – Scali says she will be supporting Penrith on Sunday.

“I may be originally born and raised in Melbourne but I definitely will be backing the Mighty Panthers all the way.”
