The Sydney Roosters may be forced to follow the Sydney Kings NBL franchise in scrapping their current logo due to licensing fees being enforced by the Sydney Opera House Trust.

A report on Thursday confirmed the Kings would soon be announcing a new logo without the famous opera house shells.

Rugby league’s Roosters have used the same logo since the year 2000.

A-League’s Sydney FC and AFL’s Swans jersey and logo both incorporate the opera house.
