New Zealand Warriors CEO Cameron George says the club is planning to be in Tamworth and operational from West Tamworth Leagues Club by this Sunday.

Speaking to Ray Hadley on 2GB on Wednesday, George confirmed the Warriors will take 48 players and staff to the regional New South Wales town.

“Once we go into quarantine, if we incur any injuries we can’t bring others in,” George said.

“We need to take everyone and everything because we can’t bring anything in from the outside world.”

A concerned George was then asked for his thoughts on the flouting of COVID-19 isolations rules by Nathan Cleary, Josh Addo-Carr and Latrell Mitchell and the subsequent fines.

“Our players (in New Zealand) are being asked to leave their families in another country and relocate,” George added.

“I hope everyone adheres to the warning.”
