You dirty, creepy Dogs. Unless you’ve been living under a rock you would have heard the news that Canterbury-Bankstown has stood down Corey Harawira-Naera and Jayden Okunbor from their season-opening game against Parramatta.

On Tuesday it was revealed that the pair engaged in consenting sex with two schoolgirls from the Port Macquarie region on a recent trip.

The girls are of legal age but that’s not the story. The story is Harawira-Naerea and Okunbor met them while the team was on an official visit at their school!

Ewwww!

What the hell?

Bulldogs coach Dean Pay fronted the media on Wednesday with CEO Andrew Hill.

“Obviously there’s challenges to it,” Pay said.

“The positive out of it is Joe Stimson gets a start, so he plays his first game for the club. Dean Britt plays his first game for the club. Christian Crichton gets an opportunity to start.

“Those boys are excited about playing tomorrow night.

“we’ll be prepared. We’ll be ready.”

It is understood the Bulldogs have known about the incident for weeks but waited until two days prior to the NRL season getting underway to stand the players down.

Why wait this long?

And why do it on the eve of the season kicking off?

It followed a statement released by CEO Hill.

“Corey Harawira-Naera and Jayden Okunbor have been stood down by the Bulldogs after each was issued a show cause notice by the NRL as to why they shouldn’t face further disciplinary action for alleged breaches of the Game’s Code of Conduct,” Hill said.
