Cowboys ready for Leichhardt Oval and a Wests Tigers team riding wave of emotion

North Queensland great and current Cowboys assistant Josh Hannay, who played against Wests Tigers in the 2005 grand final, believes the addition of captain Michael Morgan could see the visitors cause an upset at Leichhardt Oval tonight.

Morgan slots straight into the halves as the Cowboys prepare to face a Wests Tigers outfit riding a wave of emotion after the retirement announcement of Robbie Farah.

“We’ve had a fair bit of disruption. Having Morgo back there,, there’s a bit more composure and understanding of what’s required in big moments when they come along,” Hannay said.

Hannay acknowledged the Cowboys had work to do as they prepared for a pro-Wests crowd.

“I know whenever we have one of our guys with a big occasion we always make a big deal and really try and impress upon the players how important it is to put on a performance befitting of the occasion.”
