English club Wigan has confirmed their international utility John Bateman is headed for the NRL in 2019.
Bateman will join countrymen Josh Hodgson and Elliott Whitehead at the Canberra Raiders.
“Bateman, who has signed a two-year contract with an option for a third year with a NRL side for an undisclosed fee, has also agreed a three-year deal to become Wigan’s marquee player when he returns to the Betfred Super League,” Wigan posted on Twitter.
Meanwhile Wigan has announced former Sydney Roosters star Adrian Lam as their coach for 2019. Lam also played for the Warriors in the Super League.
