Jack de Belin has a clear message for furious Dragons fans

St George Illawarra forward Jack de Belin has a clear message for furious Dragons fans: “Players don’t go out there to lose.”

That comes after yet another poor performance on the weekend at Kogarah against Canterbury. The 38-0 loss on the eve of the finals saw Dragons fans abuse players post-match.

A petition online is also calling for the head of coach Paul McGregor.

“It was hard but at the same time they are very passionate, the Dragons fans, so when you are winning they are right behind you and when you are losing they can kind of turn on you,” de Belin added.

“We hold ourselves accountable, we know it wasn’t good enough and the fans were quick to remind us that it wasn’t good enough as well.”

The Dragons play Newcastle on Old Boy’s Day at McDonald Jones Stadium this weekend.
