Brisbane Broncos coach Wayne Bennett has blamed his team’s 26-6 loss to the New Zealand Warriors on State of Origin.
The Broncos only had four players involved last Wednesday but said build-up to the rare Sunday game in Brisbane was hindered.
“We didn’t have a lot of players (four) in Origin as much but the whole club’s disrupted,” Bennett said.
“We had a pretty disrupted session on Saturday morning with players not sure who was playing and guys pulling out, the NRL’s rules and so forth.
“At the end of the day it’s not desirable but we’re still a lot better than we played today.”
Brisbane sit precariously in 8th position on the ladder and face the powerhouse Penrith Panthers this Friday night at Suncorp Stadium.
