The Canterbury Bulldogs are in major salary cap trouble according to Channel 7 who reported on Thursday night that the club has a whopping 12 players off contract next season and only $800,000 to spend.

Star twins Brett and Josh Morris are set to exit Belmore with the club unable to get near their previous contracts.

Current management are paying for back-ended deals done by former CEO Raelene Castle and former coach Des Hasler.

Meanwhile, Queensland are set to be without Matt Gillett for the upcoming State of Origin series with a reported fractured neck.
