The Wests Tigers have confirmed the return of the Western Suburbs Magpies for the 2018 Intrust Super Premiership season.
As reported by The81stMinute’s Curtis Woodward last month, the Magpies will make their triumphant comeback to Australian rugby league’s second best competition next year.
The Magpies will also be coached by Wests Tigers and Magpies legend Brett Hodgson.
“I am absolutely thrilled to come back home to where I started playing,” Hodgson said in a statement on weststigers.com.au.
“It’s a great opportunity to come back to a club that is clearly on the improve both on and off the field. I’m looking forward to developing as a coach and working under Ivan.”
Wests Tigers explained that part of the Magpies return was to coincide with the club’s push to strengthen the all-important Macarthur region.
