Sydney Roosters star Mitchell Pearce is back on top of the Steele Sports Medal taking the lead back from Cameron Smith.

Pearce received three votes in the Roosters’ win over the Newcastle Knights.

Gareth Widdop received two votes for a strong showing in St George Illawarra’s thrashing of Manly-Warringah and joins Smith in second place:
