Sutton wants a new deal at Rabbitohs as utility closes in on 300 NRL games

South Sydney Rabbitohs veteran John Sutton wants to play again in 2018 but the utility is yet to receive a new deal from his beloved Redfern club.

Sutton is headed toward 300 NRL games and says winning the 2014 premiership – ending South Sydney’s title drought – was undoubtedly the highlight of his career.

“It was one of the best feelings ever. It’s hard to win a comp but I was lucky enough to do it, and what’s more, I got to hold the trophy in front of our fans,” Sutton told NRL.com.

Now I’m just trying to do my part for the team to try to get some wins.

“I haven’t got anything sorted yet but hopefully we can get something sorted soon.”

The Rabbitohs play Gold Coast Titans on Friday night with both teams sitting on 10 competition points.
