Wests Tigers spine could be the most dangerous in the NRL: Gould

Phil Gould believes Wests Tigers exciting young spine could prove to be the most dangerous in the NRL this year after hammering South Sydney on Friday night at ANZ Stadium.

Writing for the Wide World of Sports website, Gould left special praise for arguably the best fullback in the game right now – James Tedesco.

“The night was all about the brilliant young West [sic] Tigers players. The scintillating attacking game was just too much for the South Sydney defence to handle. Halfback Luke Brooks, five-eighth Mitchell Moses and fullback James Tedesco could well prove to be the most dangerous and entertaining playmakers in the NRL this season” Gould wrote.

“Playing off the back of a strong platform created by their willing forward pack, these talented young dynamos produced a relentless stream of attacking raids.

“Tedesco was absolutely electric. He is such an elusive ball runner. His speed and incisive running style threatens the opposition defensive line in all parts of the field. Defenders make mistakes as they are lured out of their formation trying to counter his effectiveness. He is probably the most dangerous running player in the game today.”

Gould will be hoping Tedesco and company suffer a round one hangover when they face his Penrith Panthers on Sunday at Campbelltown Stadium.

The Panthers conceded 40 points against a rampant St George Illawarra on the opening weekend.
