2017 Predictions: Gold Coast Titans

Gold Coast Titans
Coach: Neil Henry
Pre-season: Auckland Nines February 4th and 5th, v Warriors February 19th

What they’ll get right: Coach Neil Henry always gets the best out of his Titans which is a scary prospect for the rest of the competition. They’ll fly under the radar for the majority of the season but the best thing about this side is they will never beat themselves. Their consistency will get them to the top four.

What they’ll get wrong: What to do with Tyrone Roberts? He had a pretty good 2016 in the absence of Kane Elgey but the future says Elgey and Ash Taylor are the Titans long-term combination. There is a chance for Roberts to reininvent himself as a bench utility popping up wherever needed.

It’s a big year for: Jarryd Hayne. The two-time Dally M winner looked sharp in his return in late 2016 but now has a full pre-season under his belt. Expect huge things from the fullback this year.

Most improved: Jarrod Wallace
MVP: Jarryd Hayne
Most consistent: Ryan James

Prediction – 3rd
Their depth chart is thin but if they can keep fit they’ll play finals footy.

Possible team:
1 Jarryd Hayne
