Was Maroons sledging behind Cameron Smith speech snub?

According to a report on Fox Sports’ NRL Today, Paul Gallen and the New South Wales team snubbed Cameron Smith’s post-match presentation due to ongoing sledges throughout Game III.

“According to the NSW camp, Paul Gallen feels as though he was vilified and sledged throughout the course of the game,” James Hooper said.

“The Queenslanders picked on him and suggested that he was responsible for the losing culture, they’ve only won one series out of 11. And it was his farewell party, yet there weren’t that many fans there, there were only 61,000 people out there at (82,000 capacity) ANZ Stadium.”

This was denied by Gallen on The Footy Show Thursday night saying the Blues players simply couldn’t hear Smith’s speech at ground level and his claims were backed up reporter Erin Molan.
