South Sydney’s season is over and are still fuming after a controversial no try was given in Monday’s loss to Manly.

Rabbitohs winger Joe Burgess seemed to have kept his hand on the ball as he grounded it over the but the bunker went the other way and said there was separation.

“It thought it was a dead set try,” Souths forward Sam Burgess said.

“I just don’t know how they can get it wrong I really don’t.

“I tried to ask a question on the field why has it been disallowed?

“There is no answer, I don’t think the referees knew why, as a player it is pretty frustrating.”

Souths coach Michael Maguire was equally as frustrated.

“They are defining moments in the game,” he said.

“We made it hard for ourselves in the first half but we achieved what we wanted to in the second half, getting our completions up but those sorts of things in the game are defining moments.”
