Back-to-back and reigning Toowoomba Rugby League Champions Wattles are gunning for a third consecutive title in 2016 and will be even harder to beat with the addition of representative Gatton prop Dale Perkins.

Perkins arrives as the club after being an integral part of the Hawks engine room.

“That is a great thing for us. He has shown faith in the Wattles club to come on board,” Wattles Coach Gary Lawrence told The Toowoomba Chronicle.

“It is a challenge for him to leave a club he has been with for a long time.”

Lawrence is also new to the head coaching position after taking over from Luke Duggan.

Wattles don’t have it all their own way with Matt Duggan to miss a good portion of the season with a knee injury.
