Rugby coach continues attack on Sam Burgess

Bath rugby coach Mike Ford has continued his barrage of South Sydney’s Sam Burgess telling England’s Daily Telegraph Burgess found union too difficult despite many good critics believing rugby itself got it wrong from day one.

“He was used to being the Pied Piper figure in league and maybe he figured it would be the same in union. It wasn’t,” Ford said.

“Sam realised that it was a major project, and perhaps that he might never get the recognition he enjoyed in league. So back he went. It was very disappointing.

“I told him (after the Rugby World Cup) that he was just suffering a World Cup hangover and to go away and think about it all.

“He did, and he went back to league. He had found it much harder than he thought.”

Time to get over it we think.
