Tomkins keeps NRL return on the table as England prepare for Kiwis

Sam Tomkins says he isn’t worried about criticism about his short stay with the Warriors where he cut short his stay in the NRL to return to England but added that he may return to Auckland at some stage in the future.

The talented fullback was labeled the NRL’s worst ever buy by Rugby League Week.

“I won’t lose too much sleep over that,” Tomkins told Press Association Sport.

“I didn’t know I was top, but someone told me on Twitter about the article.

“People think I’ve not enjoyed it because I cut it short a year early.

That’s not the case, I thoroughly enjoyed it. It’s a beautiful place to live – I’ve kept my house there because I want to go back at some point.

“I enjoyed it, but, with other things happening in my life, it was a good time to come back.”

Tomkins missed England’s 84-4 destruction of France over the weekend but will be ready for New Zealand in the first of three tests.
