The Newcastle Knights have announced the signing of current NSW halfback Trent Hodkinson on a three year deal beginning in 2016.

Hodkinson is in camp with the Blues in Brisbane but his club future had been in the air for weeks.

“Trent’s signing is a major coup for our Club,” Knights CEO Matt Gidley said on Monday evening.

“Trent is the current NSW halfback and has proven on many occasions, in grand finals and Origin matches, his ability to steer his team to victory.

“Our Club has a young and talented back line in place and we look forward to Trent assisting our team to realise their potential.”
