Social media is the world’s new water cooler and the National Rugby League is no different.

A club’s ability to bring supporters deep inside the inner sanctum can make all the difference and after a little bit of work on the old calculator, The81stMInute.com has compiled all sixteen NRL club’s social media numbers from Twitter, Facebook and Instagram.

The Brisbane Broncos are head and shoulders above the rest of the premiership with a staggering 623,000 fans while the defending premiers South Sydney sit 123,900 behind.

Despite their horrendous off season and poor start to the competition, the Gold Coast Titans sit in a respectable 9th while the real shock are the Penrith Panthers. Their football department and front office might be rolling along nicely but there social media presence leaves plenty to be desired. The Panthers sit way down in 15th on 140,000.

Down in 16th are the Canberra Raiders who are the only club with less than 100,000 likes on Facebook and less than 10,000 supporters on Instagram.
